Overview
Start your garden's seedlings indoors and extend your growing season. The AeroGarden Harvest Seed Starting System will fit the newly redesigned Harvest or Harvest Elite in-home garden (not included) and allow you to sprout up to 23 seedlings while you wait for the weather to get warm enough for outdoor planting - no sun and no soil required! This does not work with any Harvest Classic model gardens.
Just replace the standard grow deck in your Harvest or Harvest Elite garden with this seed starting tray, place your seed in the coir grow sponges, and drop them in to the 23 spaces in the tray. Your garden can run its normal cycle, no special settings needed. In a few days, you'll have little sprouts that you can easily take out of the garden and transfer into your outdoor beds when the soil is ready. Starting your garden from seeds is cheaper than using store-bought starter plants, and you can choose from so many more varieties.

How do AeroGardens work?
AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
How do I prune Lettuce/Salads?
Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter!
How long will it take my plants to germinate?
Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:
- Flowers take about 7-12 days
- Salads: 5-8 days
- Herbs: 5-15 days
- Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days
If any of your seed pods don’t germinate after 21 days, contact us so we can send out a replacement for you under our 100% germination guarantee.
How do I clean my AeroGarden before starting a new garden?
After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

No more costly bedding plants!
I bought this in November and used it to start greens and herbs for some indoor window boxes I had under grow lights-- it was way faster and and produced bigger, healthier plants than direct seeding. I'm really looking forward to starting my summer tomato plants in here, which I've never been able to do before. Replacing the commercial tomato plants with homegrown ones gives me many more options for varieties, and the kit will pay for itself in one season! This will also allow me to grow some long-season fall crops that I couldn't before-- leeks and brussels sprouts, maybe cabbage or kale too. So many possibilities!

AeroGarden seed starter for Harvest model
I ordered this starter for my Harvest Garden but it does not fit my older model. I did not see anything in the description addressing this issue, I have called customer service but they are only taking emails at this time with the virus pandemic, so I have emailed ( twice) now without any response. Growing season approaching, would like to be able to get a replacement if available for my older model so I could get plants in my outside garden! Please AeroGarden address thi issuer! I do love my Harvest model just not practical for starting only 6 plants for starting my outdoors garden. Thanks

Poorly Labelled Product
I bought this product in store because it said it was compatible with the Harvest and Harvest Elite. Little did I know that the company made a new Harvest model but didn't give it a different name than the old model. They also failed to mention on this product that its only good for the new version. I only realized this once I went to set this in the bowl and noticed the bowl is much larger. I think it will still work even though there will be a big gap between this and the bowl so I'll be losing water quicker which isn't a big deal but still pretty annoying that the product wasn't properly labelled to begin with. Too bad the company doesn't even sell a version for the older Harvest models.

Excellent Seed Starting System!
The Harvest model seed starting system worked well for me, though I wish it came with a guide on what veggies and fruits grow best in such a wet environment. I wasted a handful of good seeds as I learned what did and did not work. I had such a beautiful, bountiful crop this year that I was able to transfer into my garden with no issue. I just wish that the roots wouldn't get tangled up in the filter so quickly (2 weeks after planting the seeds). Overall, I look forward to getting my hands on another one of these once I have a bigger garden. Highly recommend for those wanting to get an early start despite the unpredictable last frost schedule.

Great Little Garden
I highly recommend AeroGarden products. This little garden gem is our newest addition. It is perfect for starting seeds. We used it to start morning glories, petunias, black-eyed Susan and marigolds. We bought regular seeds from a store and every one of the pods sprouted! Every. Single. One. Then we simply planted them outside. Talk about savings! All of the AeroGarden models are easy to use and fun. We have 3 different models set up most of the year. Herbs, lettuces, seed starters, annual, perennials...so many options. Overall, our AeroGardens have more than paid for themselves in a short period of time.

Though i absolutely think this is a great product, my last purchase attempt has convinced me to search elsewhere. I do not think asking me to make another purchase attempt before the money from the failed attempt (aero garden blamed their processor) of over $700 was not yet refunded. After some wonderful exchanges (2 of which we canned responses) and promises that the sale price would be honored as well as the free shipping...i got my refund through my credit card company. I am not and was not willing to spend more money up front with promises of refunds/discounts later. Vote with your dollar.

Please Note: Will NOT fit the older Harvest Models
Bought this seed starter tray for my Wi-Fi Harvest, but didn't realize it wouldn't fit until it was too late. This past spring, I was getting the Harvest ready to be planted and found the tray is too short and narrow for my unit.
I truly don't recall the listing stating the tray wouldn't work fit the older models when I bought the tray, but will make sure I call Customer Service BEFORE buying any other Seed Starters!
On a happier note: I managed to find a tray for my Harvest Classic and then out THIS tray in a little tub of water next to the Harvest. Worked out ok for my flower seeds.

Does not fit Harvest XL
We bought the harvest XL less than a year ago and we're excited to start our seedlings with it this season. However, despite the listing saying that it was for harvest models, it is not for the harvest xl. And they seemingly don't make one for it. It is much too narrow for our harvest xl. Given the problems with this and the failure of AeroGarden to follow up with me on seedlings that never grew, I feel better about purchasing the knockoffs that I see. I'm not getting better customer service by buying the brand name. So I might as well save my pennies.

Will this tray work for the number six model?
The Seed Starting System for Harvest Models can be used on the Harvest, Harvest 2.0, or Harvest Elite grow deck. There are separate Seed Starting Systems for the Harvest Slim models and the Harvest 360 models. We do NOT currently have a Seed Starting System for the Harvest XL. All Harvest models are 6-pod gardens, be sure to check the white sticker on the underneath side of the base of the garden, for your garden Model to be sure you are purchasing the correct Seed Starting System. I love this accessory and have used it to start all sorts of herbs. My question is- are there spacers ( caps that go over unused spaces on the deck) for the seed starter? I ordered a set from Amazon to help w algae blooms but those caps are too large.

While we have Plant Spacers (https://aerogarden.com/accessories/other/970021-0100.html) for the seed pod openings when using the regular grow deck, we do not have spacers for when your are using the Seed Starting Kit. The Spacers are used to prevent the light from striking the water and adding warmth, which can spur algae growth. When using the seed starting kit, the seedlings are not in the garden long enough for this to be a concern.

The seed starting domes are too large for my Ultra garden. Ideas for replacement?
If you are asking for suitable substitutes for the little plastic domes that you use over each pod until the plants sprout, I use the food and beverage covers that look like shower caps. The 16” diameter cover works perfectly

Hello Pattie, Aerogarden Seed Starting System for Harvest Models is only compatible for the Harvest and Harvest Elite gardens only. It will not fit the Harvest Slims or Harvest 360s.
