How do AeroGardens work?

AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!

How do I prune Herbs?

Pruning your herbs is important to keep them growing and healthy in your AeroGarden. You can start pruning when the plants are about 2 inches tall. We recommend only pruning about ⅓ of the plant at a time. When growing herbs, keep in mind basil usually sprouts within a week of planting, and grows rapidly. Be sure to prune your basil from the top as needed to keep the grow lights at the lowest position until all the herbs have a chance to catch up. Raising the grow light to accommodate the basil can slow or stop growth for other smaller, slower-growing herbs.

Can I grow different types of plants at the same time?

Yes, you can mix different types of plants in your AeroGarden to grow a variety of herbs, salad, veggies, and flowers if you’d like. If you are growing different plant types, it is important to prune the taller and bushier plants as they grow to allow plenty of space and light for the shorter and smaller plants.

How do I clean my AeroGarden before starting a new garden?

After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

I bought a basil pod kit to go with it for her to try first because we love basil. We “planted” about a week ago and have baby plants already! All of them sprouted too! Plus side our basil plants we bought from the grocery store benefit from the spill over of light. Negative it’s so bright. Like sooo much brighter than you think it’s going to be. Right now I have a canvas in front of it so it doesn’t hurt my eyes. It’s working out well. Don’t know if that will work when the plants are bigger. All in all I love this as much as my mother. It’s super simple to set up and super simple to follow when to add more water or food

Rated 5 out of 5 by from aero garden harvest slim My husband got me an aerogarden as a gift and i loved it so much i bought another one.. i have herbs in one and lettuce tamato in the other one. i love love love it. and the lettuce grows quick too .. and i use 3 different basils in so many dishes and wow what a difference FRESH herbs make! i recomend this to ANYONE that wants fresh and not store bought herbs and lettuce . i will prob end up buying a third one. its easy the light flashes when you need to add water or plant food so its really brainless .. and btw my husb got me this because my outdoor raised bed just was a flop and couldnt grow much .. now i can indoor garden year round!!!

I have been using two old AeroGarden models to grow vegetables and herbs from seed pods and to grow my own seeds from the seed starter trays for many years. The old models stopped working, so I purchased serveral AeroGarden Harvest Slim. The new AeroGardens are of a new design and much more efficient. I am very pleased with the results. I live in Colorado at 9,200 feet and can only grow hardy vegetables in my outdoor vegetable garden. I now have a small green house addition to my house where I am able to grow tomatoes, etc. I use the AeroGarden to germinate seeds in the seed starter trays for the indoor garden and outdoor garden as well.

I hated buying those salads in the bag, because it would go back so fast. Now I can just cut off what I want to eat. It actually saves me a lot of money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quiet but touchy I bought the Harvest Slim as an addition to an older Harvest Elite I have that I love. This one doesn't have the wi fi so I cannot control it via the app and you cannot set the time for the lights to come on and off -it just sets the time when you turn it on the first time or hit the lights button. Which would be fine but the buttons are SUPER SENSITIVE -I keep on turning the lights on and off during the day on accident which resets the timer!!!!! However, its super quiet and has a small footprint so its not taking up too much space on my counter. I would go with the Elite if you are on the fence though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great, but seed pods are hit or miss I love how nice this product looks in any area of my kitchen, and how easy it is to use. I have a dedicated corner of my kitchen for gardening, but I wanted to try using the Aerogarden before purchasing one for my mother, who doesn’t have as much space or time for gardening. I was able to keep this on the kitchen table, and it looked and functioned great. Some of the seed pods have been hit or miss, so the jury is out on whether I can purchase another until I test out the functionality to use my own seeds.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from model or pods both don't work I do not know if it is this model or if it is the pods you are now selling. The only items which seem to grow are basil, mint and oregano. The parsleys (both italian and curly) from two different orders show a touch of green after two months; the others, thyme, sage dont sprout at all. I've ordered three different times and not happy. I had the programmable model and everything grew in that (lost cord and not buying another although I still have it) So its either the model or its the pods but I am not wasting any more money

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Price vs quality is an issue The slim part is right. Depth is nice on counter, but spacing/width for plants is a little too small. The light is just a little too small for end plant to reach full potential. I have to rotate them. Original box of seeds came with everything falling apart, no labels on some, yo couldn’t tell if the seeds had fallen out or not, or what they were. They did send a replacement- that one was wet and molding from the inside out. Thankfully the plastic held it together. The third try, with second replacement 5 of the sixth grew into nice full size plants. Ran a kill-a-watt to measure output, true readings. Price would be $13 for the year for me to run.
