How do AeroGardens work?
AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
How do I prune Herbs?
Pruning your herbs is important to keep them growing and healthy in your AeroGarden. You can start pruning when the plants are about 2 inches tall. We recommend only pruning about ⅓ of the plant at a time. When growing herbs, keep in mind basil usually sprouts within a week of planting, and grows rapidly. Be sure to prune your basil from the top as needed to keep the grow lights at the lowest position until all the herbs have a chance to catch up. Raising the grow light to accommodate the basil can slow or stop growth for other smaller, slower-growing herbs.
Can I grow different types of plants at the same time?
Yes, you can mix different types of plants in your AeroGarden to grow a variety of herbs, salad, veggies, and flowers if you’d like. If you are growing different plant types, it is important to prune the taller and bushier plants as they grow to allow plenty of space and light for the shorter and smaller plants.
How do I clean my AeroGarden before starting a new garden?
After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

LOVE my Aerogarden! So easy to use!
My husband and I love FRESH ingredients to cook with but since we live in a condo there is no space that we can grow our own garden. I purchased this Aerogarden Harvest Elite Slim a little over a month ago for my husband's birthday and we are both in LOVE. We started the garden 24 days ago. It is so easy, the garden basically grows itself. We are amazed with the results. My favorite part is that we will have fresh herbs all year round! I am trying to convince him that we need to buy a second one! We just purchased one for my mother in law and she was so happy. This is an amazing gift.. and a gift that keeps giving (herbs all year)!

LEDs failing fast...
We had very nice results on our first round and the herbs produced usable results for almost a year. Then we cleaned out the tank and wanted to start a second round a couple of month later. To our surprise we saw that the LED panel wasn't fully illuminated anymore: upon closer inspection we saw two suspicious LEDs which were pretty dark. A quick check revealed that these two LED were toast and, due to the setup of the LEDs, a whole section of the panel was now out of power.
I haven't found any replacement parts and the value for the money is just bad should this be the typical lifespan...

I had previously had an AeroGarden for five plus years and enjoyed growing my own herbs. I thought this version was more attractive and decided to purchase it. I'm not happy with it because I haven't been able to grow basil--of all things. Usually basil was the first to grow. I have tried 3 times to grow basil and each time, the basil molds before any germination. I have gotten parsley and sage to grow but not much else.
Also, the lid where the pods go in looks terribly messy. The growing solution somehow leaks through the seams and there is a bunch of brown dried solution/water on the lid.

Do not buy.
Do not buy. I bought 3 at Christmas: 1 for a friend, 1 for my father and 1 for myself. My friend’s nor my father’s nor mine came with the promised free “herb” pods. Mine also did not come with a power cord. And, the lettuce pods that I additionally bought came with mostly herbs not lettuces. My father’s unit cannot be set to anything other than 14 hours of light no matter what setting is chosen. He tried to call customer support and was told to look it up on the website. The company quickly sent my friend’s pods and quickly sent my pods and power cord. However, with problems on 3 out of 3 units, I truly have no confidence in this company or this product.

Started out great then no customer service
Super easy to put together and get started, all of the pods quickly sprouted and grew. Things were going very well but around the third or fourth week, some of the buttons stopped working properly and then the system fully shut down - found that water was getting into the electrical area so I dried it up but was too late. Reached out for troubleshooting help and replacement parts about two weeks ago and have yet to receive a response.
For looks and growing, the system is great. For overall build and company support, I am very disappointed - water should not be able to get into the electrical components from normal use and the customer service is severely lacking.

So far so good but a few things need improvement.
I have this unit for a little over two weeks. One lettuce has not come up at all. The other lettuces and herbs are coming up - some more than others - but they may have growing rates.
I had a real problem with the instructions. I would have liked to know that I could control when the lights come on. They are incredibly bright and very white. Since I live in an open concept loft, it affects the ambience and not in a good way. So made changes on the menu to try to adjust the lights, which has affected any notice about water and food. I haven't yet received any notices yet. I would recommend more detailed instructions about timing for the lights.

3 things I wish I knew.
3 things I wish I knew before I purchased it.
1. Up close the “platinum” looks like a cheap stainless steel sticker.
2. It does not come with plugs for if you want to grow fewer fewer plants or if you would like to remove a pod when growing plants need more room.
3. It doesn’t come with an easy method of changing out the water and, trust me, a siphon of some type makes that job much easier.
It sum: it works well but they cheaped out on the quality of life accessories.
Buy a siphon and a set of the plugs if you think your crop could crowd each other out, particularly if you bought a grow anything kit.

Sadly, died after 2 years. Disappointed!
I realize that this is just 2 years since purchase and it is out of warrantee but the unit was carefully taken care of. We didn't use it in the summer but when I went to set it up again now, it wouldn't power on! I have another Harvest Elite and bought 2 of the small ones as Christmas presents for my son and my sister. The company has offered me a 10% discount on a new one given that my unit is out of warrantee but Im not sure I want to take a chance and spend such a large amount of money on a product that might not work after a while. I have grown herbs and lettuce and we loved the plants. Even bought blank pods and grew some of my own herbs but I am hesitant to purchase another unit right now.

Can the light timer be set by owner?
Yes, you can set your light timer on your Aerogarden Harvest Elite Slim, as follows: Touching the Leaf button 2 times, use the arrows to navigate to "Set Light ON", press the Leaf to select, use the arrows to set the ON time for the lights, touch the green Leaf button to save.
The lights will then turn on at that time every day until the light timer is reset.

is this an organic growing system?
When using the Aerogarden Harvest Elite Slim and our seed pods, we source from organic sources, when available. We do not use GMO seeds, ever. We are part of the Safe Seed Pledge, which means we will never knowingly buy or sell genetically engineered seeds or plants.

Will roses grow in the aaerogarden?
The Harvest Elite Slim and other Aerogardens are designed for growing salad greens, herbs, flowers and some vegetables. This unit would not have the space needed to grow roses to full size. You can use your garden to start plants that would need to be transplanted to containers or in ground.

What is the difference between a Harvest Slim and Harvest Slim Elite? All I can tell is the Elite come sin a stainless steel finish.
The Harvest Elite Slim has some upgraded features, such as the Stainless and Platinum finish options. The Elite Slim also has a digital screen with a menu and clock, as well as vacation mode.
