AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter! As a general rule, never prune more than ⅓ of any plant at once.
Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:
- Flowers take about 7-12 days
- Salads: 5-8 days
- Herbs: 5-15 days
- Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days If any of your seed pods don’t germinate after 21 days, contact us so we can send out a replacement for you under our 100% germination guarantee.
After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

Fresh salad every day now
First of all: 100% germination, sprouted in 3 days. :) The lettuce takes a while to grow back after the first cutting, but after that it grows back quicker and quicker. Planting all 12 of these at once is yielding enough lettuce for my BOTH my husband and I to have a medium-sized salad 5x per week. I imagine this lettuce is probably high in minerals due to the use of the organic fertilizer made from fish that Aerogarden sells. Thus far, the lettuce is not crispy; it's more soft. It still tastes good, but I've taken to having a fan blowing on the Aerogarden all day in hopes that the wind will help make the leaves thicker and perhaps crisper.

I cannot believe how great these gardens are!
The seeds sprouted so fast! One was a dud, but being a gardener I know this is common so I had spare at hand to plant another! They obviously are growing at different rates, a few are growing so crazy fast that instead of constantly trimming daily I just bought another to start the slower ones. I cannot believe folks have given this wonderful product such bad reviews for ridiculous reasons! Gardening is not supposed to be magic, it requires tending and care...that is why gardeners love to garden! This is a photo from just a few days past 3 weeks...and the dill and basil have been trimmed back like crazy!

Wish it was really custom
We ordered the 6 pod custom salad kit and gave real thought to the pods we chose, however when we got the kit our Tatsoi lettuce had been replaced by beet greens, which we never would have picked. I understand that maybe all the pods aren’t always available but I feel like we should have been given a chance to choose the replacement instead of just given something else without any warning. Top top it off not only did we get the beet greens but they never grew, same with the 4 Marvel lettuce, so two out of our 6 pods were duds. That being said the romaine, river, and salad greens are doing well, but we are pretty disappointed with the order in general.

Little success
I purchased this kit as I have done for the past two years. Each time I plant it there is at least one pod that will not germinate. I understand it is natures work however when I order a replacement they will not send it fast ship and the other pods grow longer so that when I plant the new pod (after eventually getting it) the new pod will not grow with any success even though it germinates. Likely because you have to move the light panel high above or there is not enought room when the other pods are grown. Simple fix is for aero garden to honor their sale and fast ship the ungerminating pods.

Quick fresh greens
What a great way to lose the winter blues! I had lettuce in two weeks, basil and cilantro in 3 weeks. I can’t believe how fast they grew. The lavender is taking much longer to grow, but it is slowly getting there. One of my seed pods did not grow at all. I had some lettuce seeds left over from last summer, dropped them in the pod and in 2 days they were sprouting. The only thing about the design I would change would be to space the grow holes further apart. Once the plants get tall they cover up the smaller plants. Otherwise I love having fresh salad greens in the middle of the winter. It is super easy to use too!

Usually great results
I love my aerogarden and have used it for a year. This time I had one pod, arugula, that did not germinate. It’s been about 18 days. Nothing. I have to wait 21 days before I can have a refund or replaced. At this point , I don’t think it’s going to germinate at all. I’m an avid gardener so I think this pod is a lost cause. Just waiting to see how quick my replacement will take. Otherwise, aerogarden and seed pods are an excellent way to have fresh herbs and different types of lettuce. I can’t comment on the timeliness of the replacement because in the past all my pods have germinated.

Love my Aerogardens
Love my Aerogardens. I grow tomatoes, swiss chard, beet leaves, tatsoi, kale and herbs. The tomatoes take a long time to produce, but you can eat tomato leaves. Research it first to make sure you're comfortable with it. Eat the younger leaves and I always cook. Pizzas, pasta, omelet good addition to greens. Treat like an herb and don't have too much because it has slight levels of some feared cancer causing chemicals - but less than previously thought. Reduces cholesterol too - some great health benefits. Plenty of research available and some cooks that use too. Increases the usefulness of the tomato Aerogarden in a huge way! The swiss chard does better than some of the lettuces with firmness and growth - my favorite.

Great arugula, romaine not as great
I purchased a mix of arugula, baby greens and romaine. The arugula is delicious and grows abundantly. The baby greens have a strong mustard taste. Still delicious, but not a mild taste. The first romaine leaves were bitter, and the new ones growing in have brown edges. I've sent in a question to customer service asking what I can do better to improve the harvest. Two of the pods (1 baby green, 1 romaine) didn't sprout as expected, so I contacted customer service.
(I used the non-germinating pods as if this was the 'grow anything' kit and planted other seeds which are growing well.)
