How do I prune Lettuce/Salads?
Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter! As a general rule, never prune more than ⅓ of any plant at once.
How long will it take my plants to germinate?
Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:
- Flowers take about 7-12 days
- Salads: 5-8 days
- Herbs: 5-15 days
- Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days

Bought for comparison test
I bought this spotlight specifically for testing. My tests 5 years ago on LEDs were dismal. Since then Aerogarden has shifted to all LEDs, and I own 2 LED Aerogardens, one powerful, one not. But I hadn't repeated my side-by-side growing experiments.
This time I squared off CFL, lower-power Aerogarden, another company's full-spectrum all-white LED spotlight, and this AG LED spotlight. They all grow my green and red test lettuce fine.
This light is really intense, and focused - not much footprint spread. I'd recommend it more for lighting a tomato or pepper than low-light plants like lettuce. (You'd probably need more than one for the tomato, probably also for the pepper.)

Best customer service ever
We ordered 4 light bulbs, one of them did not work properly. We contacted customer service, they quickly sent us a replacement. We ordered multiple items from the in the past, if anything was wrong, it always been taken care of in the end. Customer service is outstanding! Rare example of a company that really stands behind their products.

Great while it works
I bought two Grow Lights in October 2020. They were used indoors to keep my plants alive until March 2021 when they could go in our sunroom. Worked great and all made it through our cold dark winter. Started up the lights again in late October 2021. Discovered one dead one this morning. A total of eight months out of the light. I expect the other to go out any day now. These are LED and should last far longer than eight months. I will be
switching to another brand of grow light for the rest of the winter.

Not a good buy
I bought 3 of theses bulbs on 4/26/2020 i received them on 4/2/2020 I burn them for around 4 hours a night. in less than 30 days they were dead. I mailed customer service over two weeks ago and have not received a reply. These bulbs are very poor and this is not the first problem I have had with then I bought 2 last spring and when I went to use them this spring they lasted one night, but they were out of warranty, DO NOT waste your money of these bulbs.

Brilliant bright but Faulty
I love the brightness the lumen, intensity plants seem to love it lettuce and spinach do awesome !couldn’t complain about brightness or the look of the LEDs looks high quality but sometimes you get a good one sometimes you get a bad one !they may only last for hours two weeks or six months you just never now you take the bulb out of the socket and it still has power and is still shining not good!! Great customer service though! It’s a shame I wanted to love the product and give it five stars! like I said works great when it does work

Necessary for indoor plants
I've tried other "grow lights" but they have no discernable effect. I was very happy to discover aerogarden sold their grow lights in affordable light bulb form. The only thing is it's A HUGE bulb and so far I haven't found a lamp to fit it (the stem is standard, just the rest of it is huge). So I have it in an extension cord with a socket hanging over some plants, which are already doing well.
