Frequently Asked Questions

AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!

Each of our Seed Pod Kits are tested for germination and expire one year after that date. To give you seeds the best chance to germinate, we recommend storing extra kits in a dark, cool, dry place. This will keep them cool and the seeds dormant until you’re ready to plant them in your AeroGarden. Some people store them in the vegetable drawer of their refrigerator in an airtight container or bag.

Fruiting vegetables, like tomatoes, peppers, and Fairy Tale eggplants, do require a little more attention and care than herbs, flowers, and salads.

The trellis is an accessory that helps support medium and tall plants, such as tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant. Help your plants grow taller by supporting them before they develop heavy fruit. We have trellis systems available for Bounty and Farm models. For smaller gardens, like the Sprout and Harvest, try bamboo sticks, chopsticks or our Soft Ties to support your plants. Stick them down inside the grow pods next to the stem. Plants will grow up leaning into them or you can tie gently to the support. Early support can keep plants from collapsing under the weight of the fruit (tragic if it happens just before harvest).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from too Hot. I have 3 AeroGarden farms. So I can afford to wait for the plants to Mature .. No fruit at all for several month's. Just flowers. Maby to cold in my house but after a year now I have every pepper And it’s growing all over the place .i don’t know how it will do in my house when I turn the temperature down to 50 during the winter months . The Peppers are almost to hot I am not exaggerating , The red peppers can be soaked in water and sprayed on plants As a non-toxic Insecticide . Or sprayed on unfriendly animals. I don’t do anything special ,just using the aero garden plant food, ,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing Like Hot Peppers It is sometimes hard to find hot chile pepper plants. This is a nice selection of varietiey. The peppers sprout more slowly than the lettuce I am growing. Fortunately, the lettuce does not shade them out. Be warned, some of the peppers are very slow to sprout -- one took almost twice as long as they said it should. Give them plenty of time before you give up on them. Once they start growing, they grow well. They do grow tall, and a different rates. You may want to spread them out among lower growing plants so they don't get shaded out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rotten sprouts Didn’t grow and rotten. Since I bought different seeds I am still trying to make the other pods grow. It’s the same thing for the other pods I bought: salsa garden

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love peppers but only half sprouted. I bought this kit (actually I bought 2) because we love peppers. In the first batch only 2 of the jalapeno and one purple super hot sprouted. The purple super hot withered and died within a day or two of sprouting. Two of the jalapeno plants have very well and I am now seeing some small peppers. I hope the next planting does better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nothing hot is happening... I am giving these pods 3 stars only because I am keeping hope alive. My other pods have a ton of leafy growth but these have yet to sprout... it is a little disappointing

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only bad seed kit I’ve ever ordered Have attempted one each of the three different peppers, and not a single one has germinated. Very sad.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No peppers It has been 2 months now and still no peppers. The plants are growing much taller than the grow light, so they have to continuously be trimmed down or else the grow light burns little circles in all the leaves. Also, two of the pods are labeled the same plant, but look nothing alike. I am disappointed there are no signs of fruitful peppers yet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for some peppers I have been growing for 3 months and the jalapeños are common nice but they overgrow the purple super hots so they have no chance at light and the reds just don’t seem to want to become peppers, they become flowers and die with plenty of light.
