Ways to Enjoy your MicroGreens

Here are some easy ways you can incorporate your home grown and harvested Microgreens.

So, you planted your new Microgreens Seed Pod Kit in your Harvest / Harvest Elite or Bounty AeroGarden, and now you have a thriving tray of beautiful and colorful sprouts. But now what? How do you use all your nutrient packed greens? Easy! You eat them. Here are some easy ways you can incorporate your home grown and harvested Microgreens.

Smoothies & Juices

Smoothies or Juices (when done right) are typically packed with fiber and vitamins, which benefit you by keeping you full, and helping regulate your body’s cleansing processes. Add some microgreens to your typical drink of choice for added benefits! Wheatgrass is the most common microgreen used, packed with nutrients that may help aid the body in getting rid of impurities and stored toxins. You can add any variety of microgreens to your drink! It could be a fun experiment trying a variety of different flavor combinations.


The best way to get the full benefit of your microgreens nutrients, is to eat them raw. Toss a couple in your salad of choice, and you are guaranteed to have a nutritious meal. You can mix up the variety for different textures and flavors. Think about this, you have just harvested your lettuce from your Bounty, picked some tomatoes off your Farm XL, and then shaved off some MicroGreens from your Harvest. You have a healthy, delicious salad that not only is better for you and the environment, but was grown by your very own hands.

Sandwiches & Wraps

Another easy way to use some of your fresh microgreens are by tossing them into any of your sandwiches or wraps of choice. When done right, a sandwich can be very nutritious and low in calories. A great sandwich to try is the Green Goddess Crunch Sandwich. You not only get to add your homegrown MicroGreens, but you also add your AeroGarden grown Basilchives, and cucumbers!

Makes 2


1/4 cup basil
1/4 cup chopped chives
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup plain whole-milk Greek yogurt
2 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
1 lemon, halved, divided
Kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper
1/4 English hothouse cucumber, thinly sliced
4 slices multigrain bread
1 avocado, thinly sliced
8 oz. mozzarella, sliced 1/4″ thick
2 cups sprouts (such as alfalfa or broccoli)



  1. Place basil, chives, mayonnaise, yogurt, and 2 Tbsp. oil in a blender. Finely grate in zest from a lemon half, then squeeze in its juice. Purée until smooth; season dressing with salt and pepper.
  2. Place cucumber in a small bowl; squeeze in juice from remaining lemon half. Drizzle with oil, season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat.
  3. Spread one side of each slice of bread with dressing. Divide avocado between 2 slices of bread; season with salt and pepper. Top with cucumber, mozzarella, and sprouts and close up sandwiches.


Only some microgreens do well when they are cooked (pea shoots) and others need to be tossed in at the last second (radish sprouts). Microgreens can be a great addition to stir fry dishes, topped on soups, or wilted with spinach.


While it is not typical to bake microgreens, it has been done! You can add or substitute microgreens for spinach in your quiche or frittata. You can also experiment on the sweet side, like adding sorrel into a lemon tart.
