New Pollination Tips Video Is Now Available!

Pollination is the key - learn more!

When you're growing fruiting plants indoors, like in an AeroGarden, you need to help out with pollination to enjoy the fruits of your labor. For outside plants, the wind or pollinators like bees and butterflies, shake the pollen in the blossoms loose. But since your plants are indoors, you get to "be the bee" so to speak.

Tomatoes and peppers are self-pollinators, so they only need to move the pollen around within the individual blossom to create fruit. Other varieties, like melon, apples and berries, are cross-pollinators, and need to have their pollen spread amongst the flowers to bear fruit.
