This foliage houseplant has a presence. Sure, it plays nice with others, but alone or in a group, alocasia knows how to work the room. A fantastic indoor plant, alocasia plants grow best in indirect light, like many other tropical plants. Give it the bright, indirect light it needs and get fast-growing, bold-colored leaves. And since alocasia is a bulb plant, even if it loses its leaves, with the right growing conditions it will sprout new ones.
Meet your new statement piece. Alocasia’s leaves aren’t just some of the largest, with their colors, contrast, structure, and texture, they’re some of the most striking, too. Their bold, green, large leaves are shaped like an elephant's ear, which is why this plant is known by the nickname "Elephant Ears."
The type of Alocasia may vary based on seasonal availability. Varieties can include alocasia amazonica (also known as alocasia polly), alocasia macrorrhiza, alocasia zebrina, alocasia dragon, alocasia black velvet, alocasia stingray and more.
Due to state restrictions, we are unable to ship plants to ID, HI, or AK.
Water your alocasia houseplant when the soil is dry a few inches down. Keep in mind that if this plant doesn't receive enough water, the leaves may start to show signs of drooping. Make sure to place it in a pot with drainage holes to avoid root rot.
