How do I prune Lettuce/Salads?
Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter!
How do AeroGardens work?
AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
How do I use the Grow Bowl (for Bounty Classic/Ultra/Extra)?
The Grow Bowl replaces the Grow Deck of your AeroGarden Ultra/Ultra LED/Bounty Classic/Bounty Elite Classic. The Grow Bowl is then filled with a “soil-less” Grow Media (we recommend chunk coconut fiber). Live plants such as strawberry crowns, bonsai, dwarf fruit, mini roses, and orchids are planted in the media. The customizable pump on your AeroGarden will activate at the programmed intervals to fill the Grow Bowl, watering the plants, and moistening the grow Media. After the watering cycle, the pump shuts off and the Grow Bowl drains, pulling oxygen into the media. This is ideal for plants, like strawberries and orchids, that love drier, well-drained soils.
How do I connect to WiFi?
You can connect your AeroGarden Bounty or Farm models to your wireless network and utilize the features on your garden when you’re not home, or simply in the other room. When connected to your wireless network, you can adjust your light timer, check the water level, and reset the plant food timer with the AeroGarden app.
- To connect to your WiFi, tap on the WiFi Icon on the garden.
- You will get the prompt to search for networks, select your network name (do not use the 5 Ghz network).
- Click next, then enter the password for your network. Be sure to include any capital letters or symbols that may be in your password.
- Tap “OK” and the garden will attempt to make the connection. If successful, you will get a message to get the scan code, which is used to link your AeroGarden to the app.

Design flaw and no repair available
Mine worked well for 3 years. But the place where you add water is right above the touchscreen, which isn’t sealed very well. It doesn’t work now. Contacted company - they told me to buy a new one. Everything else works; it doesn’t belong in a landfill. AeroGarden has made a business decision to not do repairs and force people to buy new units. They could at least sell me the base unit, since they are still making them. The light, pump, tank, everything else works fine. But no, they want me to throw it out and buy a new one. And they should not put the electronics right below the fill opening or else seal it better.

Prefect for black thumb gardeners!
The product performs as promised. I’m a black thumb gardener, and I’m impressed I’ve been successfully growing my own salad greens with the AeroGarden. My salad greens are currently on Day 51, and they continue to thrive and grow. I wouldn’t say this would feed a family of 4. Two definitely, and three people if you want a really small salad. My husband and I get good sized salad portions from this AeroGarden once a week. Being able to harvest and eat within minutes is amazing, and the lettuce is unlike anything I’ve had before. It’s what lettuce should taste like. I’ve already got a second unit, and am strongly considering a third.

Amazing and very BOUNTIFUL!!!
My first aerogarden and it's amazing! Just make sure you prune regularly. I've had it for about 3 months and just realized a few weeks ago that I haven't paid attention to the roots at all and now they're out of control!!! Already repotted my basil and it's doing great 3 weeks later even though I had to cut the roots because all the plants were growing together! Will be repotting the rest today. My thyme pod didn't have any seeds in it but I'm not too upset because I needed the extra room anyway. The only thing I would have liked to had were some blanks to put in the empty slots so light didn't get into the base.

I always wanted to grow herbs my own in the house and definitely don't have a green thumb. This makes it all possible for me to grow plants inside my home with the proper lighting. Very easy to set up and comes with the pods to grow and plant food to put in the water. It comes with a stabilizing platform in case they start growing to big to help stand them in place. It's all digital and walks you through the process of growing and setup. I filled the water up to where it said to and added plant food. Then added the nine pods. I have one starting to grow so far. I downloaded the app and that way if you are away you can control the lighting and monitor. Very impressed.

Easy to set up and use but WiFi did not connect.
I am not a green thumb by any stretch. But this is a simple system for growing herbs in a very short time. Once growth gets started, be sure to prune regularly. The herbs seem to acually grow faster and healthier when I do. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is my WiFi would not connect after multiple attempts and trouble shooting. Customer Service sent a set of instructions that I had already followed. Then never responded when we wrote back that we had already taken those steps. Since my herbs are growing fast and healthy, I am reluctant to try to return the garden. However, it is unfortunate that I am not able to use WiFi and the app since that is part of what I paid for.

Half growing
For us, 2 out of 9 pods didn’t sprout at all. Company sent us replacements, but we haven’t use them yet. We are 28 days into it and about 4 out of 7 are growing nicely but the other 3 just growing very small. Company has NO ONE available to talk to! Only chatting via their website. For the price they’re charging (which we think is expensive) they should have a human being to speak to. It’s a cool idea and exciting to watch every day, but a month into it, it definitely doesn’t look anything like the photos of full and dense plants. Maybe that will happen in time. We hope.

Great Indoor e-garden
It was easy to set up the whole thing, it took me less than 20 mins. It was just straight forward even without reading the instructions. The materials used are of good quality and I think may last, and I'm even more impressed with the touch screen control panel which is easy to navigate. It's got tips on how to take care of the plants and reminders on important things such as adding the plant food. The LED lights are bright and it even brightens up the hallway when lit. I'm very eager for when the herbs starts to germinate and have some buds growing. The product is very pleasing to the eye and would be a very good addition to our home. My children are even checking on it every now and then and they are also very excited to see the plants grow.

Good garden if you don't mind spending the money
I had the the little Sprout and liked it so much I got the bigger one. It's pretty slick and did much better at keeping the roots aerated. I have my big one at work (where I practically live) with flowers in it and had Marigolds and Snapdragons going in no time - and they lasted a long time! The remote functionality and ability to turn on and off the light with my phone was very nice. All around good for making my office a little slice of heaven. The only negative is that the water level gauge stopped working - I think it got stuck to the side with goop and just didn't move. I took the little one home for herbs. I bought the aerator pump for the little one so I'm hoping that helps.

What is the difference between the Bounty Basic, Bounty, and Bounty Elite? Do I need the seed starting tray or is it just for starting plants to plant outside?
All Bounty garden models hold 9-pods, 24" growth height, light timer, nutrient timer, water level indicator and LCD Screen that displays # days planted, clock time, nutrient timer, and water/nutrient alerts, and have Vacation Mode setting. The Bounty Basic comes with a 30 watt LED grow light, the display screen is not a touchscreen and the gardens do not connect to WiFi. Bounty and Bounty Elite gardens do connect to WiFi, have a full color touchscreen and lights can be dimmed. Bounty gardens have a 40 watt LED grow light and matte plastic finishing while our Bounty Elite gardens have a 50 watt LED grow light and come with a stainless steel finish.
Aerogarden Seed Starting System For Bounty Models will allow you to start up to 50 seedlings indoors in your 2019 AeroGarden Bounty Basic, Bounty, Bounty Elite, or Bounty Elite Artisan with no dirt and no mess, then easily transplant them into your outdoor garden when weather allows. Thanks for the question. The bowl on the Bounty Elite holds a volume of 18.8 cups.
When adding the AeroGarden Liquid Plant Food, the cap on the 3-ounce bottle will hold 4mL of the liquid nutrients. In a 9-pod garden, such as the Bounty family of gardens, you would add 8 mL at 1st two feedings, then add 12 mL every 2 weeks thereafter. These amounts are the same regardless of the number of seed pods you actually have planted at the time of feeding

We ordered the Salad Greens -- they all say Heirloom salad greens on the pod -- are they all different types of salad greens or will I be growing 9 of the same thing?
Hello GBaker, the seed pods in this kit are all labeled "Heirloom Salad Greens" on the stick-on label. However, the assortments: Black Seeded Simpson, Deer Tongue Amish Green, Red Sails, Marvel of 4 Seasons, Rouge D'Hiver, and Parris Island are all included in the kit. Seed pods can be differentiated by their seed characteristics and once they have germinated.
