How do AeroGardens work?

AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!

How do I prune Lettuce/Salads?

Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter! As a general rule, never prune more than ⅓ of any plant at once.

How long will it take my plants to germinate?

Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:

Flowers take about 7-12 days
Salads: 5-8 days
Herbs: 5-15 days
Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days

If any of your seed pods don’t germinate after 21 days, contact us so we can send out a replacement for you under our 100% germination guarantee. After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

(3 of the 6 pods had died out and become both stinky and slimy.) With some initial clean-up by hand first, I used the required amount of cleaning powder in water and left it to cycle through the system overnight. The next day I rinsed the garden base out, replaced the sponge and got new seeds planted in the garden. The new garden is growing great and everything looks perfect. Note: I did not have any 'pests' or bugs of any kind so I can't speak to that

Figured it was the best one to use to find out if this stuff really worked or not. We put it in and added water to fill line. Left it in overnight and by the morning it was completely cleaned out. The stuff seems to work really really good. I have a lot of AeroGardens so I'm sure I'm going to buy more of the stuff in the future.

I mixed it in the reservoir, recirculated for, I dunno, an hour or two, then, before dumping it, dipped a cloth in the solution and wiped down all the surfaces. Everything just came right off. I dumped it and rinsed everything without thinking about it, but I see that it is "no-rinse." Next time I'll skip the rinsing and make less of a mess. lol

We have been using our 2 Aerogardens for several years for seed starting in the spring, Aerogarden tomatoes during winter and growing herbs for drying to replenish our stock. No problems with the gardens, they work well. My only issues are: 1) why are there no local stores to buy products from? Little things like seed sponges and pump filters that need replacing should be locally available. 2) The No-Rinse Cleaner does an ok job on cleaning, but I always get a scaly build up around the holes and inside the top plate. I was wondering if soaking it in CLR would clear the scale without damage to the garden or make it unusable due to chemical residue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Many Gardens from Still have to clean & sanitize I used this product to clean 2 Harvest Basic gardens that didn't have calcium buildup but did have normal amounts of algae. It works better and easier than the vinegar or bleach methods, but it definitely doesn't work as well as it claims. (I used 1/2 Tablespoon for each unit and ran them as per instructions) My pics show the algae buildup before I used it and after letting it run for 2 full days (Pic of opened deck is the After). It also didn't remove roots that have grown into and under the pump or into the water level indicator. I still had to remove both pumps and clean them, and still had to sponge wash the decks, reservoirs and all parts. I didn't have to scrub at least. I definitely wouldn't have started a new garden with all the algae, roots and gunk left in it like the instructions say. I feel this product should work better than that, especially considering the price. I've heard there is a similar product on A mazon for less money, so I may check it out when I use up this bottle. I have 6 Aerogardens.

Aerogarden Hydroponic No Rinse Cleaner Cleanser is out of stock, or even when back in stock, you can clean your AeroGarden between plantings by following these simple steps: If you have a dishwasher: 1. Put your grow deck and bowl in the top rack of the dishwasher, 2. Run through a warm or cold water cycle (do not use a hot water or heat dry cycle!), 3. Reassemble to start your next round of gardening. If you don’t have a dishwasher: 1. Fill the bowl with either water and a ¼ cup of chlorine bleach OR 5 cups of distilled white vinegar (no need to use water if you’re using the vinegar). Vinegar also helps prevent and clean up mineral deposits in your garden, 2. Let the water pump or aerator circulate the solution for 5 minutes, 3. Empty the solution, rinse well, and then fill with clear water (no bleach), 4. Allow the pump or aerator to circulate the clear water for 5 minutes, 5. Empty and rinse once more to ensure that all solution is rinsed from the bowl, 6. Reassemble.
