How do AeroGardens work?
AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
How long do seed pods last?
Each of our Seed Pod Kits are tested for germination and expire one year after that date. To give you seeds the best chance to germinate, we recommend storing extra kits in a dark, cool, dry place. This will keep them cool and the seeds dormant until you’re ready to plant them in your AeroGarden. Some people store them in the vegetable drawer of their refrigerator in an airtight container or bag.
How do I prune Tomatoes/Peppers?
Fruiting vegetables, like tomatoes, peppers, and Fairy Tale eggplants, do require a little more attention and care than herbs, flowers, and salads.
What is the trellis for?
The trellis is an accessory that helps support medium and tall plants, such as tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant. Help your plants grow taller by supporting them before they develop heavy fruit. We have trellis systems available for Bounty and Farm models. For smaller gardens, like the Sprout and Harvest, try bamboo sticks, chopsticks or our Soft Ties to support your plants. Stick them down inside the grow pods next to the stem. Plants will grow up leaning into them or you can tie gently to the support. Early support can keep plants from collapsing under the weight of the fruit (tragic if it happens just before harvest).

These really are just about useless, as most reviewers have stated. The magnets are too weak and the overall design impractical to provide support for all but the smallest and most supple stems. A much better option is to order some neodymium hook magnets (aka ring magnets, aka fishing magnets--a flat base with an eyebolt screwed into it), cover the magnet bases with duct tape to prevent scratching the posts of the Farm's frame and string either cord or a small diameter vinyl-covered cable between them. I chose the latter and swaged the loops. Just don't order magnets stronger than 40lb pull or you'll never get them off. These will hold up the tallest, heaviest tomato stems.

Not strong enough
I kept these on as my tomatoes grew and as soon as they got tall enough to need to use these wires, the magnet wasn't strong enough and they kept popping off. Great idea and concept, just poor implementation. Any weight will cause the magnets to just pop off and your entire system falls.

Works Fine For Me!
I initially had some problems installing the cross wires and then realized that like a compleat idiot, I had mounted the magnets on the outside of the frame instead of the inside. Once I corrected that bonehead error, the trellis performed as advertised and is easily supporting the tomato laden branches. I think it would take a pretty hefty tomato to dislodge those magnets.

Couldn't use.....BROKEN
The cable lengths on the main arms of the trellis were 2 different lengths. One was too long and bowed down, and the other was too short and snapped and broke. I couldn't even attach it to the Farm XL we bought.

Looks good, works as advertised
Although I read a lot of not so good reviews on this trellis system, I ended up purchasing one anyway. For me they worked as advertised, seemed to be a tight fit but they do what they are supposed to do. It does look clean and its easy to adjust to any height. If you have dogs these will get bumped off the rails occasionally, something to keep in mind. For super heavy loads I would recommend reinforcing the magnets with a rubber band or something.

They break easily…not worth it.
I have 2 farm 12 gardens. The trellis prices broke for both gardens. They are flimsy and do not hold up well...no matter how gentle you are when setting them up. After a few uses, the little plastic “hooks” used to hold the plants in place breaks. I’ve had this happen several times. I’m looking for an alternative solution that won’t break so easily.
