How do AeroGardens work?
AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
How do I prune Herbs?
Pruning your herbs is important to keep them growing and healthy in your AeroGarden. You can start pruning when the plants are about 2 inches tall. We recommend only pruning about ⅓ of the plant at a time. When growing herbs, keep in mind basil usually sprouts within a week of planting, and grows rapidly. Be sure to prune your basil from the top as needed to keep the grow lights at the lowest position until all the herbs have a chance to catch up. Raising the grow light to accommodate the basil can slow or stop growth for other smaller, slower-growing herbs.
Can I grow different types of plants at the same time?
Yes, you can mix different types of plants in your AeroGarden to grow a variety of herbs, salad, veggies, and flowers if you’d like. If you are growing different plant types, it is important to prune the taller and bushier plants as they grow to allow plenty of space and light for the shorter and smaller plants.
How do I clean my AeroGarden before starting a new garden?
After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

So easy to set up. Can't wait for herbs to grow !
Just got this a few days ago and unpacked today. Easy instructions and it took only a few minutes to set up. My unit allows me to grow 6 herbs or veggies - I chose the herbs I actually cook with (parsley, basil, mint, dill, thai basil, thyme). The individual pods show which grow tallest so that they can be placed in the back. The unit even comes with the food needed to help them grown quickly. I have mine set up in the kitchen and set the light to go on at night which is quite bright and I'm able to turn off the other kitchen light. I highly suggest the AeroGarden for you and all your family that enjoys fresh herbs or vegetables in the meals.

Horrible customer service
Your customer service sucks! I was one of your original customers way back then. Had probably 20 Aerogarden’s. Had Aerogarden for many many years many models. If I had issue I’d call. Sweet lady would check things out and help me out. Now you have questions, issues, complaints, and you put them online and NO ONE EVER RESPONDS. I’ve had issues since before Christmas with this last piec of crap Aerogarden and I’ve receive no help. Youve gone wayyyyyy down hill. Hate your company now. And telling everyone I can how wonderful you used to be and how crappy you’ve become. Are you glad you sent this survey?

Like the LED not the size
I have been growing herbs in this for 2-3 months. It was soon apparent that the amount of water stored in the unit was inadequate, making it necessary to add water at least once a day. The light bar does not raise high enough to accommodate herbs like basil, or dill. Thyme might be ok. So now it requires pruning 2-3 times a week and an external reservoir to assure it doesn't lack water. The plants are growing well, although one thyme did not grow nor did one basil. Since I had pods from another kit I added those and will request replacements from Aerogarden for the two that didn't grow. I think this unit is entirely too small to accomodate any six plants even with aggressive pruning.

So far, so good!
We live in a Townhome, so we have limited options for growing our own herbs and veggies. My husband has been dying to own a garden, and then the Aero Garden came along! I love the easy smart screen set up. I love the ease of planting the pods, adding the water and plant food, and then letting the AeroGarden do its job! The duration of light that it needs is based on each type of plant grown. It's very bright when it's on, but it runs on a timer. That makes it easy for even us on the go people to grow our own foods! It has only been 2 days since planting, and there's already sprouts showing, but not coming up just yet!

OMG - I love this AeroGarden
I didn't know what to expect when getting this AeroGarden, I've never had one before but this thing is AMAZING! Let me tell you, it's so simple to get this thing going and you just have to leave it, it's very self sufficient. On day 2 I could already see one pod sprouting, beyond amazed! The light is really bright, like seriously bright but I have it configured so it's off by midnight. I can't wait to put tomatoes or something in it. This is definitely a good investment if you are not so good with plants. I being one of those people am thrilled at how easy this is to use.

Fool proof way to start an herb garden
I do not have a green thumb. I have a tendency to kill any plant by overwatering, underwatering, too much sun, not enough sun... you name it, I will probably kill it. But I love having fresh herbs and I want to have a proper herb garden where I can grab some basil thyme or from the garden while I'm cooking. This system is fool proof. It gives the herbs the proper amount of light. It tells you when to add water or plant food. After 2 weeks, all of my herbs are growing and looking healthy. I look forward to transporting them into my garden when they get too big for the aerogarden. The only negative is that the light is BRIGHT. Too bright for keeping in my kitchen so I keep it in my laundry room.

I love my Aerogardens!
I now have two Aerogardens, the latest one (Harvest Elite) with sage, thyme, rosemary and mint now growing well after two months. In my original one that I purchased a year ago, and after transplanted basil into an outdoor pot, I have replanted a new crop of basil and heirloom tomatoes. I harvested regularly for a year from my first crop and can't wait to begin doing so again with the new crop. The tomatoes taste wonderful. Not only would I recommend it, it is my gift of choice!

Decent as a starter garden
This product is a great gateway into hydroponic gardening. Alas, more advanced users will quickly find that the ports are not large enough, pods don’t lend themselves well to transplantation, and the water tank is not deep enough for root systems. Additionally, roots tend to get tangled up with each other and they easily clog up the filter.
A few recommendations to miracle grow on their next incarnation of the product - deeper tanks, larger ports, separate chambers for each plant/port.
Features that would be greatly appreciated to a hydroponic gardener - built in PH monitoring, pods that can be transplanted easier, cleaning system that does not require disturbing the roots - possibly some way of flushing the reservoir while filling the reservoir without removing the tank.

What is vacation mode?
The Vacation Mode in the Aerogarden Harvest Elite slows the rate of photosynthesis for your plants. By reducing the hours of light per day to 8 hours per day, it slows the rate of nutrient and water consumption for your plants. Vacation Mode will help to reduce the rate at which your plants absorb water so you can go a little longer without needing to add water to the reservoir.
