HOW DO AEROGARDENS WORK?

AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!

HOW DO I PRUNE LETTUCE/SALADS?

Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter!

As a general rule, never prune more than ⅓ of any plant at once.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE MY PLANTS TO GERMINATE?

Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:

  • Flowers take about 7-12 days
  • Salads: 5-8 days
  • Herbs: 5-15 days
  • Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days.

If any of your seed pods don’t germinate after 21 days, contact us so we can send out a replacement for you under our 100% germination guarantee. 

HOW DO I CLEAN MY AEROGARDEN BEFORE STARTING A NEW GARDEN?

After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great crop for indoor garden! This kale in my Ultra grew strong and healthy. In the past I've always cooked a whole store bought bunch of kale at one time and we ate it as a side dish. If I'd done that with my garden kale, I would have had to harvest too much at one time. Instead, I learned to use smaller amounts mixed into eggs, soups, stews, rice dishes and salads. We harvested over 4 to 5 months before the stalks and root systems were getting too large for the garden and growing between the layers of the grow deck. The flavors were good (although some would sometimes taste peppery when raw) and the garden was a delight to look at with the assorted textures and lush greenery. This was my second crop of kale and I will plant kale again when I have garden space available. Time to try a different crop for now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not great So, i was excited to grow some kale at home like I did with the lettuce mix pods but the kale did not grow very well. The leaves never got very large and they grew very sparse...not even enough for a full salad. I do not recommend this pack.

As a woman who has killed everything she's ever tried to cultivate within the Plant Kingdom, I gave up after I even rendered herbs hopeless repeatedly! Recently I thought I'd try herbs again, and while researching how-to's, I ran across Aerogarden ads and reviews. I took a deep breath and bought a Harvest Slim. I planted herbs and Kale Mix pods, which sprouted within a few days and have grown so fast! I then bought a Bounty Basic so the kale could grow tall, and added salad greens as well. Now we're daily using herbs, making salad including kale leaves, and putting kale also in our green smoothies. The kale is deep green, and tastes so fresh. Every Aerogarden seed pod has been good and sprouted green babies down inside the pod before the time specified on the label. Then they've grown so fast we're surprised every morning! I'm now finally succeeding with Plant Kingdom goodies, my conscience is clearer regarding violence to plants, and we're savoring our efforts! Win-Win --- YAAAAY!!! :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love having kale I can just pick in winter! We purchased our first aerogarden back in November. I set it up and had kale to pick by Christmas. I have been picking kale from my aerogarden Farm 24XL for over 2 months. I have 2 pods of kale and 1 lettuce pod planted. This gives me plenty for one salad a day. I have a 3rd kale plant started now just to make sure I have enough until warmer weather when I can plant kale outside. I have had issue with 2 pods out of 5 not sprouting.
