How do AeroGardens work?
AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
How do I prune Herbs?
-Pruning your herbs is important to keep them growing and healthy in your AeroGarden. You can start pruning when the plants are about 2 inches tall. We recommend only pruning about ⅓ of the plant at a time. When growing herbs, keep in mind basil usually sprouts within a week of planting, and grows rapidly. Be sure to prune your basil from the top as needed to keep the grow lights at the lowest position until all the herbs have a chance to catch up. Raising the grow light to accommodate the basil can slow or stop growth for other smaller, slower-growing herbs.
Can I grow different types of plants at the same time?
Yes, you can mix different types of plants in your AeroGarden to grow a variety of herbs, salad, veggies, and flowers if you’d like. If you are growing different plant types, it is important to prune the taller and bushier plants as they grow to allow plenty of space and light for the shorter and smaller plants.
How do I clean my AeroGarden before starting a new garden?
After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

Received this as a gift because we've had issues with our houseplants dying due to lack of sunlight. I like the idea and execution for anyone interested in DIY herbs and veggies, but man this thing is BRIGHT. These pictures don't do it justice because it was daytime and the lights were on. If you get one of these, you definitely need to put it in a spare room or even a closet, and shut the door. Light will still shine out from under the door and under the door across the hall at night. So put it well away from where anyone is going to want to sleep and definitely don't put it where anyone is going to be trying to watch TV at night. The light runs 15 hours a day (you can set the start time) so for us it's 7am - 10pm. But it's getting dark around 6:30pm now during the winter and you really, really notice this light if it's not shut behind multiple doors somewhere in your house. Setup and use is easy enough, it's basically like a Keurig for plants. I would really recommend that add some sort of shade to the design, though. or at least an extended border around the lamp that hangs down to block more of the light that comes out sideways.

Awesome little garden!
This garden is so cool! The footprint is not large at all. It is really easy to set up and comes with a starter herb pack. The LED lights are really bright so be prepared for that. They can be adjusted to three heights as your plants grow, and it includes stakes to aid in vertical growth. You can grow herbs, lettuces, flowers, veggies, pretty much anything! I love the water and plant food alert features; you never have to remember when to add either with the helpful indicator lights. My son is 2 and loves seeing the little seedlings pop up!

Bad quality
This does tomatoes or peppers. Both have died after a two month grown period without yielding one veggie. I have three gardens and this is the worst yet. Unless your growing herbs forget these gardens.

I’ve had mine 4 days and I’m growing lettuce and cherry tomatoes (bought 2). The lettuce has already sprouted to where I’ve had to take off the dome. My tomatoes are just starting to sprout. Even my husband who rolled his eyes when they came in and we were setting them up with our Aero Garden Bounty Basic (growing herbs)….is loving watching the growth over night! I highly recommend! Our bedroom is upstairs and our Aero gardens are on the kitchen bar we don’t use. So I set the light to run when we go up to bed. We have no issues with it.

I like this a lot. I have been growing my own herbs and cooking with them. Nothing better than the satisfaction of growing your own herbs. The kit is easy to use, comes with starter pods, and included plant food. There are lights that flash to let you know when it is time to add some more plant food as well as when to add more water. This is very low maintenance. The light comes on and off by itself to provide the correct amount of artificial sunlight. It also waters itself with the water that is stored inside. It really is amazing.

I love my Aerogarden
I love my new Aerogarden!!! I gave my sprout to my sister. I have harvested two salads already and I have beautiful globe basil growing and my tomato plant is thriving . My sister actually used the Sprout to grow a mini tomato plant and sent me a pic of her first tomato. I cannot wait to see the flowers bloom on my tomato plant. May I make a suggestion? Please create videos showing the manner in which we care for from beginning to maturity of the herbs, tomato plants, peppers, etc., that you sell. I don’t want to have to rely on You Tube videos and I don’t want to make mistakes when pruning. Prior to the last seed pods I purchased for my Harvest XL I only grew lettuce, I think, but it would be great if you could create videos for growing and caring for our Aerogarden produce, flowers or fruits. I wish I could show the look on the faces of my co-workers when I’m enjoying a salad and I tell them it’s from my Aerogarden. I would love to have a Farm. That just may be next.

New and safe way of gardening!!
I cannot describe how excited I am to finally have this product in my home, I love gardening and living in ny at least for me it's kinda hard and a little struggle to have a successful, beautiful and healthy garden without having to put up a fight with all the natural elements ( weather, bugs and animals) I love how easy it is to set up, to follow instructions, to get the plants started, to maintain. Not going to lie but the second day after I planted the pods I woke up and saw some of the seeds started to sprout I couldn't believe my eyes, I'm so happy I'll be able to enjoy my plants without being infested, I know for sure they'll be so safe to eat right out my aerogarden. My only con is the lights are so bright but maybe cause we're used to have our home lights dimmed, and I have my aerogarden right on the counter in my kitchen, but it's not something that bothers me. I love and enjoy seeing my plants at all times so I can live with it. I have people asking me about in social media to buy for themselves or to give as a gift, if you love or know anyone that is into gardening this is an amazing gift. I recommend 100%.

Love my indoor garden
We love this product! It’s practically all set up straight out of the box. It comes with 6 pods, consisting of thyme, curly parsley, dill, basil, mint, and Thai basil. It’s so easy to use, truly made for any inspired gardener. Really can’t go wrong with this purchase if you want a indoor garden literally all year round. We live in Boston, MA so we only have a few months of summer, so this is perfect for our home. We highly recommend this product!

Best thing EVER!
So! I’m really excited to write this review I got this XL on a NYE deal. If you are contemplating go ahead and BUY it. My herbs are still thriving after sprouting in mid January and it’s early March!
Some took longer than others to sprout, but it lets you know that on the herb packaging. One thing I will say is to go ahead and remove those stickers saying the name & sprout time. My dill was messed up while coming through and they blocked light. But as soon as we removed the stickers they course corrected. The herbs are so fragrant and I’ve used them in a few meals already and they taste so good. If you don’t have a green thumb necessarily (like me) this is for you! So low effort and gives amazing results.

Poor design
I bought three different systems. All of them have a problem with the pump opening getting clogged. I clean them once a week on the same day every week. It is almost impossible to keep the root systems from growing into the pump opening which prevents the water from flowing which creates mold.

I was super excited to try aerogarden. It was easy to set up and comes with 6 seeds pods, plant food. The instructions were provided in detail however I wish there was more information provided on the appropriate lighting the aerogarden requires for seeds to germinate. Can't wait to have my own private herb garden soon! Overall, a beautiful addition to my living room and could be a lovely gift for garden lovers. Highly recommended.

Works perfectly!
I've always had a "brown thumb" and have killed everything I've ever tried to grow at home. With the Aerogarden, though, everything I try and grow consistently works! So easy to use!
I was skeptical at first that I would be able to easily grow herbs with just this little and water, but within five days, four of the six herbs had sprouted, and within a week, all had. It’s incredibly low maintenance and effective. My only complaint is how bright the light is and that it stays on 15 hours a day.

I finally have a green thumb!

The Aerogarden Harvest XL unfortunately does not have vacation mode option and there is no way to lower the amount of hours the lights are on. could I grow mini peppers in this garden? Do you have the seedpods in peppers?
When growing in a smaller garden such as the Harvest, we recommend no more than 1-2 vegetable (pepper, tomato, etc.) pods in the garden. Cover the other pod holes with our spacers or something opaque to keep the light from reaching the nutrient water. We do have pepper seed pods available on our website, however, they are not the mini peppers. Please give us a call at 937-915-2583 if you have further questions.
