AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter!
As a general rule, never prune more than ⅓ of any plant at once.
Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:
- Flowers take about 7-12 days
- Salads: 5-8 days
- Herbs: 5-15 days
- Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days.
If any of your seed pods don’t germinate after 21 days, contact us so we can send out a replacement for you under our 100% germination guarantee.
After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

Great crop for indoor garden!
This kale in my Ultra grew strong and healthy. In the past I've always cooked a whole store bought bunch of kale at one time and we ate it as a side dish. If I'd done that with my garden kale, I would have had to harvest too much at one time. Instead, I learned to use smaller amounts mixed into eggs, soups, stews, rice dishes and salads. We harvested over 4 to 5 months before the stalks and root systems were getting too large for the garden and growing between the layers of the grow deck. The flavors were good (although some would sometimes taste peppery when raw) and the garden was a delight to look at with the assorted textures and lush greenery. This was my second crop of kale and I will plant kale again when I have garden space available. Time to try a different crop for now.

Not great
So, i was excited to grow some kale at home like I did with the lettuce mix pods but the kale did not grow very well. The leaves never got very large and they grew very sparse...not even enough for a full salad.
I do not recommend this pack.

Plant Violence a Thing of the Past!
As a woman who has killed everything she's ever tried to cultivate within the Plant Kingdom, I gave up after I even rendered herbs hopeless repeatedly! Recently I thought I'd try herbs again, and while researching how-to's, I ran across Aerogarden ads and reviews. I took a deep breath and bought a Harvest Slim. I planted herbs and Kale Mix pods, which sprouted within a few days and have grown so fast! I then bought a Bounty Basic so the kale could grow tall, and added salad greens as well. Now we're daily using herbs, making salad including kale leaves, and putting kale also in our green smoothies. The kale is deep green, and tastes so fresh. Every Aerogarden seed pod has been good and sprouted green babies down inside the pod before the time specified on the label. Then they've grown so fast we're surprised every morning!
I'm now finally succeeding with Plant Kingdom goodies, my conscience is clearer regarding violence to plants, and we're savoring our efforts! Win-Win --- YAAAAY!!! :-)

Reliable source of fresh kale
I am on my 4th or 5th set of these pods. I like to have fresh kale for my smoothies. They sprout in just a few days and flourish for months. My only complaint is that, invariably, one or more pod fails to germinate. Since there are 9 pods, I still get plenty of kale.

LOVE THIS!!
My son got this for me. At 1st, I thought what in the world am I gonna do with this? Boy was I surprised. I LOVE IT. I grew tomatoes and jalapeños last summer. The lettuce is my absolute favorite. Make a sandwich and just pick off the amount you want. I make a bed of lettuce and add tuna salad on top. It's awesome to be able to grab a little fresh lettuce when you need it. And the chives, amazing.

Kale is growing nicely in the pods!
I planted a few outside and some didn’t make it but a few did. Now waiting for a little more growth to start picking!

Should I use all 6 Kale pods at once in my Aerogarden Harvest, or should I space them out by using only 3 or 4 pods?
You can successfully grow all 6 pods of Kale at the same time in your AeroGarden Harvest.

Hi there… When will you have more mixed kale kits? Really need one, or three! And… since when did so many people like kale? Must be all the hype surrounding its medicinal properties. Perhaps you might consider upping your production if that’s the case.

Help: My garden is 4 weeks old now and growing nicely. I noticed 2 leaves turned yellow. Anyone experienced this? Please advise. Thank you.
These sound like older leaves at the bottom not getting enough light. You can just remove them.

How long can you keep a pod without adding immediately?
Each of our Seed Pod Kits are tested for germination and expire one year after that date. To give you seeds the best chance to germinate, we recommend storing extra kits in a dark, cool, dry place. This will keep them cool and the seeds dormant until you’re ready to plant them in your AeroGarden. Some people store them in the vegetable drawer of their refrigerator in an airtight container or bag.
